Clinical Assistant, Treatment Coordinator
Here in the office, I wear many hats. Luckily, I like all of them and they allow me to do what I enjoy most: helping people! My goal is to establish a positive relationship with our patients and making them feel very comfortable and confident in our practice. I utilize my knowledge and skills from many years of experience to outline their treatment options, the risks, and benefits of their plan, while coordinating their insurance benefit and payment options as well. My favorite part of my job is seeing the confidence level increase in our patients as they move through their treatment and the job on their faces as they see their new smiles at the end.
My husband and I have been married for 37 years this year and have four great kids and four adorable grandkids! We love time with family and friends, traveling, boating, and other outdoor activities, and serving in various capacities in our church and on mission trips.
My job keeps me on my toes, as I am constantly learning about new technologies and treatment processes. Working as part of a great team, and helping our patients throughout their orthodontic treatments, means my day is busy and fulfilling. The relationships that build between our patients and our staff create a large, happy family, and I’m glad to be a part of that.
When not at work, I spend time with my husband, our daughter, and son. We like being together, playing games, watching movies, visiting with extended family members, and taking walks with our dog. I also enjoy making jewelry, exercising, and using power tools to do home repairs and projects.
It is my privilege to walk our new patients through their orthodontic experience from the time they walk into our office until they begin treatment. This involves showing them around the office, assisting the doctor with the initial exam, explaining the doctor’s recommended treatment to the new patient, customizing financial arrangements, scheduling appointments, explaining our rewards program, and following up with them after their first appointment to make sure they have gotten all of their questions answered. It is my pleasure to meet and talk to so many new and interesting people every day. I also enjoy being able to watch their lives change for the better as we improve their smiles.
I have five kids who all have beautiful smiles thanks to Dr. Miller: four daughters and a son. I also have three amazing sons-in-law who I love as if they were my own, a granddaughter born June 2017, and another grandchild due in July 2019. I’ve been happily married to my college sweetheart for more than 30 years and the two of us have been in full-time ministry for our entire married life. All of the above takes most of our time but when I am able, I also enjoy the opportunity to snow ski, hike, bike ride, journal, and explore new places.
I have a multitude of jobs in the front office including scheduling, correspondence with dentists, patient recall, and everything having to do with making sure our patients and community know that we care about them! I also do the marketing and event planning for the office. I love people and getting to know their stories. I’ve met a lot of interesting people and made life-long relationships. Knowing that I can affect another person with care and compassion is something I always strive for.
I am engaged to a great guy and have three children who are all adults now. They've made me an incredibly proud mom in every way and I love spending time with them. I also have a labradoodle and a Carolina dog whom one of my coworkers found when she was on a bike ride! I spend any free time I have writing, reading, cooking and baking, walking, and traveling. I feel incredibly blessed with the opportunities I’ve been given in both my personal life and my job.
Whether you’re calling to schedule an appointment or you’re walking into the office, you’ll be warmly greeted by me. I want to make sure that you know you’re welcome here and that you’re comfortable. I answer questions, schedule appointments, and do whatever else is necessary to make everything run smoothly. But I always have time to catch up with patients and talk with those new to the office, too. After 30 years, Carmel Orthodontics is my home away from home! Dr. Miller and Dr. Baxter are both great orthodontists and our team works together to make it a great place.
I have been married to my husband Darin for 33 years. We have two adult daughters; one lives close and the other lives in California so we always have a beautiful place to visit! I enjoy trying new restaurants and vacationing in warm places.
Whether you’re a veteran patient or a new face around the office, you can be assured that you’re welcome and that you’ll be treated like family. My job involves assisting Dr. Miller in caring for our patients, and I love seeing all of the smiling faces! Getting to know each patient and their family, watching their new smile develop, and then celebrating with them the day the braces come off, are all incredible experiences.
I married my high school sweetheart Brandon in 2012 and we had our first child in October of 2018, a daughter named Reagan. We have two dogs, Lexi and Remington. I love cooking, taking walks with the baby and the dogs, and spending time at home with my husband. We also love to get together with my siblings and parents who live close by.
I am responsible for managing our patients and insurance accounts, including verifying and submitting all insurance claims, meeting with parents and patients, running reports, scheduling, and ordering office supplies. Everyone has the same agenda: to make our patients feel like family. I love playing a part in helping them achieve a beautiful smile that may change their lives in some small way, boost their confidence, or just put that extra little pep in their step! I also love the rare occasions I actually give “good news” about someone’s insurance!
I have been married to my husband Kevin for almost 26 years and we have three daughters. We have spent the past 17 years on the sideline of the soccer field somewhere, watching our girls play—we are their biggest cheerleaders! We enjoy our yearly family vacations, which we agree, are at the beach—our favorite place to relax and rejuvenate. Closer to home, I enjoy reading and spending time with friends and family.
Records Coordinator/ Clinical Assistant
As an assistant here at Carmel Orthodontics, my job includes many duties that help our patients achieve a really awesome smile. I am the first person a new patient sees before meeting with the doctor. I greet them, take initial photos and X-rays if needed, and create a digital 3D scan that shows them their teeth before and after treatment. It is so cool! No more gooey impressions! I enjoy getting to know all of our new patients of all ages, and seeing their smiles transform over the course of their treatment.
I have amazing husband of almost 29 years, Sven, and we have four children: Kelsey, Connor, Chase, and Mikayla. We also have a law student from Saudi Arabia living with us named Eslah. We have two awesome golden retrievers to round out our family. My hobbies include watching my kids play sports (high school and college), gardening, playing games with my family, Bible studies, working with international students, organizing my house, and walking.
I love being a part of our patients’ orthodontic experience. For me, there’s nothing better than seeing the joy our patients experience when they finish treatment and their anticipation of seeing their fantastic new smiles. I work alongside our doctors assisting, placing appliances, and taking X-rays and photos. I am so happy to be a part of a team that is so kind, patient, and supportive. Everyone here is always willing to share their knowledge and experience so that I can grow with them and become a better assistant. I am very grateful to be a part of this amazing practice!
I have three sons and two amazing grandchildren with whom I love spending time and am amazed at how quickly they grow and what they achieve. I also enjoy riding my bike, hiking, and gardening.
I brought with me more than 35 years of experience as an assistant when I joined Dr. Miller’s team in 2017. Our patients are some of the most interesting people I’ve met, and I love talking with them about what’s going on in their lives. Seeing their amazing smiles when we take their braces off is the highlight of my day. Dr. Miller and my coworkers are so experienced and fun, and all very caring with every patient! This really is a great place to work!
I love spending time fixing up the home I share with my husband, Todd. We have a fur baby named Ruby. My husband and I spend weekends on the road visiting our five grandchildren. My heart is full and my life is blessed.
My job as an assistant allows me to work very closely with our patients. The amount of time I get with them allows me to get to know them in a personal way. I enjoy seeing the before and after appearance of our patients' smiles and I enjoy celebrating with them when they finish their treatment. Their new smiles make all the hard work worth it!
When I am not at work, you can find me hanging out with my family or adventuring with my husband. We like to explore new, fun places in Indy and enjoy finding unique restaurants and coffee shops. I can also be found creating cement home decor and weaving pillows for my small business I do on the side called “Cream and Concrete.”
My job involves everything having to do with taking care of the orthodontic needs of our patients. The end result is always a beautiful smile! Most of our patients are teenagers, and I really enjoy working with that age group. They’re a lot of fun and keep me young! Our team is a fun, energetic group that works hard to create a positive atmosphere. I can’t imagine a more supportive place to work!
I’ve been married for seven years to my high school sweetheart. We have two dogs, two cats, and six chickens. We love going to concerts, hiking, biking, and all outdoor adventures.
I graduated from Indiana University with a degree in marketing/advertising, and began my journey here at Carmel Orthodontics in 2018. I answer phones, coordinate appointments, and help wherever I’m needed. I love meeting new people and seeing how happy a new smile makes them feel. I work with a fantastic group of individuals. They are always friendly, upbeat, encouraging, and helpful.
My husband Mark and I have two sons, Joshua and Matthew. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my boys’ sporting events (basketball and soccer), traveling, hanging out with my friends, and walking our dog, Lambeau.
I’ve been working in orthodontics since 1976 and my work still fascinates me. As a lab tech, I construct all the retainers and corrective appliances for our patients, making sure that they fit properly and that they do their job. There is such an art to designing appliances! My work allows me to be creative and still use my technological skills, while being with a great group of people.
I’m married with two children and three grandchildren. We also have a pet—a green Hahns Macaw. I love art, crafting, and baking cookies with my grandkids. I attend Cornerstone and enjoy attending the Refresh Women’s Group. Vacationing in Venice, FL is one of my great passions!
